1. 2 Chronicles 7:13-14
Scripture:
13 If I shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or if I command locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence and plague among My people,
14 and My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.
A heart of true surrender and sacrifice
There is always time and chance to change the way things are going
God’s grace and mercy are so great that all we must do is turn from our wicked ways
Make the decision/choice
1 Peter 5:6 Humble yourself before God
Prayer:
Lord, I truly do not know what I am doing and need your hand of guidance through this storm. Please forgive me for both prematurely moving and delayed obedience and the words I've spoken
2. Psalms 130:3-4
Scripture:
3 If You, Lord, should keep an account of our sins and treat us accordingly,O Lord, who could stand [before you in judgment and claim innocence]?
4 But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared and worshiped [with submissive wonder].
We are all guilty and at fault for things in our lives. Yes some circumstances are harder than others but still, we play a part
Submissive wonder = humility
Amazed by God’s vastness and amount of love
We all have a price to pay, and we all have been saved with debts canceled
God throws our sin far away from us it's our job to try to be better than last time
Prayer:
Lord thank you for paying my debt and removing my sin away from me through forgiveness and true appreciation for you
3. Proverbs 19:11
Scripture:
11 Good sense and discretion make a man slow to anger, And it is his honor and glory to overlook a transgression or an offense [without seeking revenge and harboring resentment]
It gives me the honor to overlook offenses?
Lord but when I do people call me passive and that’s not who you call me (so?) (God will defend me that’s what matters, you know what’s in your heart)
God looks at the heart and motive, people look at logic and appearance
Good sense and discretion make a man slow to anger
Because he knows there are multiple sides and perspectives
The Lord will have my vengeance
Prayer:
Lord help me to not harbor resentment in my heart body and spirit and I ask this for my friends and family too
Honestly, if I go back Dad I don’t know what it will be like
4. Matthew 6:12-15
Scripture
12 And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors [letting go of both the wrong and the resentment].
13 And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.]
14 For if you forgive others their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins], your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others [nurturing your hurt and anger with the result that it interferes with your relationship with God], then your Father will not forgive your trespasses.
Some of the hurt we experience is reckless ignorance
That’s when we have to forgive the most even when it's not easy
Prayer:
Lord, please help me to forgive willful reckless, and ignorant situation of wrongdoing
Forgive them Father for they know not what they do
Harboring and nurturing hurt block/hinders our relationship with God
We have things to handle before we move forward
Unforgiveness blocks/ delays the move of God because of the many spirits attached to it
Stubbornness
Forgetfulness
Resentment
Hatred
Etc
Pure our heart Lord of what doesn’t please you
5. Matthew 18:21-22(through 35 for context)
Scripture:
21 Then Peter came to Him and asked, “Lord, how many times will my brother sin against me and I forgive him and let it go? Up to seven times?”
22 Jesus answered him, “I say to you, not up to seven times, but seventy times seven.
1 talent = 6,000 denarii (16 years to ear)
100 denarii = 4 months of work
Man this parable is deep i can see each scene
Be careful about how you move with unforgiveness you too will need forgiveness
You get whatever you put out money and life
Prayer:
Lord help me to be quick to forgive and have an unoffendable heart.
6. Mark 11:25
Scripture:
25 Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him [drop the issue, let it go], so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions and wrongdoings [against Him and others].
A heart for forgiveness and understanding
It’s good to remember your faults and also remember how you’ve been forgiven
DROP THE ISSUE, LET IT GO - it's not worth losing the presence of God over because you choose to hold on to it in your heart.
Acknowledge that it hurts but DO NOT hold the grudge or hold on to the offense more than you’re willing to hold on to God’s hand.
You will need to release something to hold onto His hand
Lay it down at His thrown fully and allow the healing and comfort of God to fill your heart as you weep.
Psalms 30:5 AMP - For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may endure for a night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.
Psalms 126:5-6 - They who sow in tears shall reap with joyful singing. 6 He who goes back and forth weeping, carrying his bag of seed [for planting], Will indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him.
Stay in a place of worship until you feel the pain release until you feel the grief release, the hate release, whatever you’re holding on to stay in your humble posture crying out to our Father. He is always listening. Even as I am listening to Only Jesus by Housefires, Holy Spirit reminded me that through our worship we can be set free. Sit at his feet and hold on to him like Jacob and never let go.
Even in my relationship with Dymin, I’ve needed tremendous amounts of grace and forgiveness so it is only right I give that to others
Prayer:
Lord help me to willingly forgive and to carry bonus amounts of grace to be able to guard my heart and mind
(What are the practical steps?)
Be more understanding
Value other’s perspective
See you’re role in the situation
Know you’ll need it soon after as well
Prayer, asking for an overflow of it each moment and day
7. Ephesians 4:32
Scripture:
32 Be kind and helpful to one another, tender-hearted [compassionate, understanding], forgiving one another [readily and freely], just as God in Christ also forgave you.
As much as we like to complain about others to God remember people complain or cry out to God because of how we treat them
Tenderhearted - is the opposite of cold-heartedness. A tenderhearted person, sensitive to the needs of others, is compassionate and merciful, loving justice and hating injustice and sin while showing love toward the sinner. Forgiveness, like a healing medicine, is vital to unity and harmony among people
Someone who had a tender heart in the Bible was David
Prayer:
Lord, please give me the spirit of remembrance to be able to leave people in a better place when they come to see or speak to me and not get caught up in myself that I forget others have it just as bad if not more worse than me in Jesus’ name amen.
1 Peter 5:9 The same experiences are happening to my brothers and sisters
During this time Aleesia’s cars got totaled and she needed a rental + the other family things going as well as leading up to her first charity event of the year
8. Colossians 3:13
13 bearing graciously with one another, and willingly forgiving each other if one has a cause for complaint against another; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so should you forgive.
Love does not take into account a wrong endured
Final Prayer:
Lord help me to have unconditional love for my family and friends and all you bring to me they’re your children first help me to remember that in Jesus' name Amen!
