1.
“The Law of his God is in his heart”
To live these things out you have to get it in you first
The only way to share something is if you come into possession of a thing first
When we allow God to guide us, we won’t slip and we will be firmly planted
Peter walked on water because he followed an audible command/guide from Jesus
The moment he went to do it on his own he started slipping
Be diligent in faithfulness and focus on the Lord
You will know what to say because His word dwells within you
Proclaim - announce officially or publicly, to call, praise publicly
“To announce wisdom… publicly
2.
Our heart is the engine to all things
What’s in my heart?
Do I have the engine to sail the ocean or can I only stay at the port?
Our hearts five the command/desire while our mind creates the plan
Our body is solely a vessel that surrounds and protects our heart which holds God's word and Spirit
Having the Lord's word tattooed on our heart preps us for any situation and guides our response
Pleasing words heal more than someone's ego it shows that you care
Dymin said today she wants me to be more poetic in my approach
Pleasing words speak to the heart body and soul
*Speaking Is Healing*
Prayer:
Lord as I continue, help me to have pleasing words and know how to use them and when to use them. Help me to become more proficient in communication, articulation, comprehension, and compassion please
3.
Prayer:
Lord help me to have a cool spirit. Lord Help me to learn your communication style and methods
There is a strategy for communicating
(Do research on how to get better at communicating by reading, watching videos, taking courses) - LEARN MORE LISTEN MORE
Timing place and tone/delivery are all extremely important
Revelation
A new goal for me in life is to have a cool spirit
It's easy to act out wisdom but challenging to live it out
4.
The power of life and death flows from the tongue
The troubles of this world stem from a dark heart and ill-spoken word
This is why we need to live out verse 21 and Matthew 6:33
My choice of words and delivery had gotten me in and around trouble more times than not
Find the balance of speaking and listening in silence
You will find the true essence of living when you seek God
5.
The king being the Lord
How pure can we be? Not how close can we get to sin without being hurt?
Flee from, not sprint towards
Heart and speech (so far these things have been unified together as I've continued throughout this devotional)
This is a level of grace we ALL NEED to live with and know that some pain comes from new growth and isn't correlated to a lack of love for you (if that was for no one else it was specifically for me)(Thank you, Lord)
6.
Time and place for everything
Reprover - correct gently, or with kind intent
Be open to learn and evolve
A word at the wrong time can fall on deaf ears
You aren’t always right
Correction and listening go hand in hand
7.
You don't have to yell to communicate and get your point across
Yelling tends to make you look foolish and incapable of communicating/articulating what is bothering you.
DON'T GIVE UP ON ME
God speaks to us with a still quiet voice
Much can be said with a few words
You are easier to hear when spoken to calmly than when yelling
Let your words hold the weight of your actions
There is a balance that neither involves force nor proving yourself
Find the path of peace
8.
Your gentleness can get you into rooms that reckless conversations can’t and won’t allow you to enter into
Prayer:
Lord help me to have favor with you and man and not lose you as I receive what I've asked for
Wisdom gives you a strategy for life
In a place of hurt your heart will guide you because the Lord has your heart
9.
Proper communication brings growth, and proper growth brings new communication
Put aside the childish ways (list things that come to mind)
Pettiness, cussing, lack of control, me me me me, lack of consideration, inability to listen, stagnation by choice, holding grudges, lack of forgiveness
Jesus set the example
How did He speak?
Direct with love and passion
Spread the truth, anything else is extra and can be harmful
10.
AT ALL TIMES be GRACIOUS and PLEASANT and with your UNIQUENESS
Don’t cloud your heart with verse language that you end up missing your assignment
Speak quietly enough to hear their heart respond
What does that look like?
Undivided attention, listening, actually caring, not doing the most speaking, being consistent, asking the Holy Spirit for help
Dont be half in and half out
A flickering light gets replaced… which one are you?
Final Prayer:
Lord, please help me to live out what you shared and what I wrote. Please keep these lessons at the front of my memory so I can live by this daily in Jesus' name
AMEN
