Romans Chapter 12

Verse 1

  • Everything we do is for the Glory of God

    • 1 Corinthians 10:31

Verse 2

  • When I read this scripture before I didn’t know that to know the will of God more is to be tested more

    • In the AMP verse, it says “progressively changed” This isn’t a get-rich-quick scheme.

    • Growing with God takes time, intentionality, and intimacy

    • You have to have day-by-day faith

  • In Luke 17:5-6 Jesus is talking about having a mustard seed of Faith

    • It may seem small to have mustard seed Faith but in 90 days you will have grown stronger

      • I also believe that in 21 days you can break an old habit and build a new one. After 90 days that habit would have begun to become sturdy and can be built upon

    • (It takes a mustard tree to fully develop in about 90 days. So if we take the faith we show up with who knows how much growth will happen if we apply God’s word and put the work in!)

Verse 3

  • Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God and He will exalt you in due time… (Cast all your worries upon Him because He cares for you)

    • 1 Peter 5:6-7 NABRE

Verse 9

  • Even the Bible knows/the context of what genuine love is vs. love that is for selfish gain

    • The word abhor - to regard with disgust

Verse 10

  • There is healthy competition

    • Verse 11 + Colossians 3:23-24

Verse 16

  • Don’t think you know it all

    • God will use the dumb to confound the wise

    • God will use the weak to confound the strong

      • 1 Corinthians 1:27-31

Verse 17

  • In front of others keep your bearings (yourself together) and in private talk to God about your feelings if you aren’t able to do it in an honorable way

Verse 19

  • At the end of the day if you hurt God’s child you will have to face God

    • He knows the best way to handle any situation, you don’t know what is on the other side of tomorrow. ONLY GOD DOES

      • Proverbs 27:1, James 4:13-16, Matthew 6:25-34

Verse 20

  • Matthew 25:35-40 AMP

    • We come in contact/connection with Go as we meet the needs of those around us

      • Verse 11 + Colossians 3:23-24

Key takeaways from today

  • Develop a habit/muscle of helping those around me

  • I’ve been wanting to know God more and not realizing what that meant once it was delivered to me through trial or test

    • Looking back on the situations recently how can I see God in them?

  • Action Steps

    • What are 3 habits you want to develop over these next 21 days?

      • After these 21 days, what needs to change, or can stay for another 21 days?

        • (progressively grow through the 90-day marker)

  • We have more growing to do… we haven’t “made it” and we won’t “make it” until we’re home with God partying

    • Don’t fake your growth or where you are

      • Locate yourself (Do a SWOT analysis of yourself)

  • How many people can we reach by using the gifts that God has given us as we work them?

  • There is a proper way to handle everything and that begins by taking it to God first

  • Work with God not against Him or even get in your way

WE ARE CLOSER THAN WE THINK AND IT’S GREAT TO HAVE THAT HUNGER GROWING MORE FOR GOD

WORK THAT FAITH!
