Mark chapter 16

Moving by Faith allows God to move with you … stagnation or the inability to bear fruit will frustrate the Lord because of a lack of proper stewardship of your gifts and talents

Points / Notes from Mark 16

V1

  • (Mary Magdalene, Mary the Mother of James and Salome purchased sweet-smelling spices so that they might go to anoint Him) Mark 16:1 AMP

  • They had enough faith to buy the spice

V2

  • (Very early on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen) Mark 16:2 AMP

  • And enough faith to create a plan to make something happen (getting up in the morning to anoint the body of Jesus)

Faith practically looks like an ordinary day of making the decision to do what is traditionally uncomfortable or normal without knowing/concerning yourself with the outcome and still hoping for the best even when hope is all you have left to give

V3

  • (and they were saying to one another, “Who will roll back the stone for us from the entrance of the tomb?”) Mark 16:3 AMP

  • They didn’t plan for the stone(the obstacle) to be there but planned to reach their end goal being to anointing Jesus’ body

V4

  • (Looking up they saw that the stone had been rolled away)Mark 16:4 AMP

  • In life, we have to leave room for God to surprise us while navigating through the in-between. If we try to have everything all figured out we end up playing god when there is only one God

  • In this case, God met their faith with an Angel that moved the rock and sat on it which represents how minuscule it was for him to clear a path for the women who didn’t plan to make the path but to solely travel it step by step with faith

V6

  • (He said to them, “Do not be amazed you are looking for Jesus the Nazarene..”) Mark 16:6 AMP

  • Don’t be distracted by what God does in the middle that you lose focus and become stagnant

  • There is still a race to be won even after you pass three runners

V7

  • (you will see Him there, Just as He told you.) Mark 16:7

  • God’s word is true, hold firm to the word given to you by God no matter the trial you face HOLD ON

    • (Consider it nothing but joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you fall into various trials. Be assured that the testing of your faith through experience produces endurance leading to spiritual maturity and inner peace. And let endurance have its perfect result and do a thorough work, so that you may be perfect and completely developed in your faith, lacking in nothing)James 1:2-4 AMP

V9

  • (Appeared first to Mary Magdalene, from whom he cast out seven demons) Mark 16:9 AMP

  • There is still hope for those in the world to come to know Jesus, live with the Holy Spirit and be welcomed into eternal life with god through Jesus

    • Nathaniel, you are never too far gone

    • You can always return

V11-13

  • (She went and reported... They did not believe it… told others.. They did not believe them either)Mark 16:11-13 AMP

  • It’s not our job to get people to believe but it is our duty to at least share what we’ve seen and lived through

    • Our testimony is the key to someone’s freedom… find the 1

V14

  • (He called them to account for their unbelief and hardness of heart)Mark 16:14 AMP

  • When things in our life come to pass do not be the person to say “I told you so” but allow the Holy Spirit to remind them of what God did in your life

    • Even if others don’t believe it you need to prophesy, edify, and encourage yourself according to God’s word

      • Don’t wait for someone else to do it YOU DO IT!

V20

  • (They went out and preached everywhere while the Lord was working with them and confirming the word by the signs that followed)Mark 16:20 AMP

  • They went out by Faith and were met with the result of God’s previous word

    • Move with Faith and he will provide for every need along the journey. We need to ask and ask with faith

    • (If any of you lacks wisdom to guide him through a decision or circumstance, he is to ask of our benevolent God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or bla,e, and it will be given to him. But he must ask for wisdom in faith, without doubting God’s willingness to help, for the one who doubts is like a billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind)James 1:5-6 AMP
